After living in the countryside for years, Vetty (Violet) Lake returns to London with her dad and younger sister. Back in the city, she reconnects with her childhood best friend, Pez, and tries to fit back into her old life. But things have changed — especially Vetty.
As she settles back in, Vetty begins to question her sexuality and her place in the world. She’s unsure if she likes girls or boys, and she struggles with how to talk about it. She’s also still grieving the death of her mother, which complicates everything.
Meanwhile, her friendship with Pez becomes strained as he starts acting differently — more distant, secretive, and caught up in a world Vetty doesn’t understand. She discovers that both of them are hiding parts of themselves, and they each have to confront their truths.
